The Old Florida Heritage Highway is composed of a stretch of US-441 from near Gainesville to the Alachua-Marion County line and also several spur roads. Exploring this corridor offers access to an unusually well preserved section of Florida's natural and scenic heritage. Travelers can enter one end of the US-441 portion of the byway from I-75, travel the 12 miles of US-441, and exit the byway at the other end, back onto I-75. From Gainesville, enter the byway on US-441 as it crosses State Road 331. Follow US-441 south into the Paynes Prairie State Preserve and through the city of Micanopy to the Alachua-Marion County line. If coming from I-75, take the CR-234 exit, Exit 374, toward Micanopy and go 1/2 mile to "Historic Micanopy" sign. Turn Right on to Seminary St. Go about 1 1/2 miles until Seminary St. ends in downtown Micanopy. Turn Left on to NE Cholokka Boulevard to get to The Shop and step back in time!
