Natural "Critters" Animals

We always carry many natural animals or wildlife "critters." These are made from natural materials like grasses, seeds, nuts, bark, chili peppers, pine cones, etc. At any time, this can include rabbits, squirrels, birds, snowy owls, hedgehogs, frogs, roosters, horses, cats, reindeer, deer, chickens & chicks, pheasants, zebra, turkeys, geese, ducks, giraffes, etc. You can also use these for seasonal decor such as rabbits for Easter, turkeys for Thanksgiving, or reindeer for Christmas. We also carry natural "nests" and "eggs" for birds to complete a look. SO Cute!

National History Collectibles:  Lucite Acrylic Insects and Wildlife

If you love the natural beauty of nature, we also carry unique items (with real insects, aquatic life, etc.) cast in Lucite Acrylic resin. Specimens are farm raised to ensure quality and that all of nature's beauty can be fully displayed. This collection includes paperweights, key chains, necklaces, bracelets, skeletons (fish, frogs, and birds), life cycles, collections, and more. These make wonderfully unique gifts, particularly for those hard-to-buy-for guys, teens, students, or anyone who just appreciates the natural world and would like a small piece of it for their own.

Ironwork & Metal Works Art

Haitian Oil Drum Art, Vintage antique reproduction advertising Signs & cast iron scroll work, junkyard animals, inspirational sayings, and more

Oil drums are Haitian artists raw materials. The process of converting oil drums into sculptures is both a tribute to man's imagination and resourcefulness in the face of dire economic need. These artists first removes both ends of the oil drum. (The ends are then used for smaller sculptures.) Next, the drum is stuffed with straw and lit on fire to burn off any residues. When it cools down, it is sliced down one side and flattened into a four by six foot piece of metal canvas. The artist then draws the design with a stick of chalk. Next--with only a hammer and a chisel--the design is cut and the sculpture comes alive with imaginative images, such as "Noah's Ark" on the left in the above photo.

We offer unique handcrafted items from around the world including animals, pottery, glass and much more! Folk art is everyday and/or festive art originating among the common people of a nation or region. It usually reflects their traditional culture and values. The bodies of these unique animals (including ducks) are fashioned from bamboo root, and their legs are teakwood. Many are painted, and all have unique names on their wooden name tags. The original shape of the bamboo roots gives each duck his or her own "attitude." Feng Shui practitioners say two ducks in your home symbolize fidelity and happiness.
